TRANSPORT COORDINATOR – FULL-TIME – BOYS RANCH

SUMMARY

The Transport Coordinator is responsible for making many of the off-campus trips required to maintain the various functions of the Ranch which include transporting youth to medical and other appointments, dropping off/picking up medical prescriptions and other needed supplies, and other various scenarios where a driver is required.
The Transport Coordinator is directly responsible to the Nurse.
This position is eligible for overtime pay.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following duties and responsibilities are given as examples of the various types of work performed in this position. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.
1. Transport youth to doctors’ offices and other medical facilities when needed.
2. Delivers information gathered at above visits and communicates this information to the Program Nurse and other relevant staff members.
3. Drops off medical prescriptions and picks them and other necessary supplies up from the pharmacy and/or store.
4. Performs non-medical youth and other transports when necessary.
5. In the absence of transport responsibilities this position will assist with cottage coverage and support.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

The person filling this position is required to have a high school diploma or GED. A basic knowledge of medical concepts and terminology is preferred.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each area of responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.
1. Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manual.
2. Must have the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and deal with problems involving a few concrete variables.
3. Must have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions, and deal with problems involving a few concrete variables.
4. Must have the ability to work with and interact with youth in an educational and residential setting.
5. Must have patience and the personality to work and communicate effectively with others.
6. Must display a good public relations image.
7. Must have a valid Florida Driver License and be able to maintain a safe driving record consistent with agency policy.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The physical requirements described are representative of those that must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to perform the essential functions.
While performing the duties of this position the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, hear, and reach with hands and arms to finger, handle or feel.
The employee is required to regularly lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision requirements for this position are close, distance, peripheral, and color vision, depth perception and have the ability to adjust focus.
Employee will be required to make regular and frequent trips to town in an agency vehicle.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Employee is regularly required to travel within the region. Work is regularly performed in an office environment. The employee works extensively near moving mechanical parts, while occasionally working in wet and humid conditions and outdoor weather conditions.
The noise level of the work environment is moderate in nature; however, during long periods of time traveling noise level would be loud.

BASE SALARY

$12.00 Hourly
