TRAINING ADMINISTRATOR

SUMMARY

The Training Administrator is responsible for coordinating and ensuring educational development and training of the employees of the Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches and Sheriffs Ranches Enterprises. A major focus of the position is the education training and development of services staff to meet licensing and accreditation requirements.
The Training Administrator is directly responsible to the Director of Human Resources and is based out of the Main Office.
This is an exempt position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following duties and responsibilities are the various types of work performed in this position. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.
1. Works with various departments to establish standards and curriculum for the vocational-professional development program.
2. Researches, plans, organizes, and conducts training programs, seminars, and conferences for non-direct care employees ensuring appropriate delivery of all required training.
3. Creates and updates computer-based training aids.
4. Oversees, coordinates, and maintains training records management systems in accordance with accrediting and licensing standards.
5. Coordinates with assigned staff to prepare and execute quarterly statewide orientation for all new employees.
6. Coordinates with staff to establish a Master Training Calendar on an annual basis. Assists with training announcements and registration process; advises program sites regarding availability of trainers/consultants to meet specific needs; contacts attendees and department representatives about training programs and advises management staff, Human Resources staff and trainers regarding training opportunities.
7. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; and participating in professional societies and associations.
8. Creates and maintains Youth Ranches Staff Development Plan.
9. Performs annual Sheriffs Ranches Enterprises training audit.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in the field of education or closely related human services field is required. At least three (3) years’ experience in the programs and services field with at least one (1) year in an administrative capacity is preferred.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each area of responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required.
1. Must have the ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and complex government regulations; ability to write reports, proposals, policy, business correspondence and procedural manuals; ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups.
2. Must have the ability to write legibly and document necessary information accurately.
3. Must have the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions; ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions and ability to deal with problems involving a variety of situations.
4. Must be computer literate and have strong knowledge in Windows-based software applications including Word, Excel and Power Point.
5. Must have analytical, math, and grammar skills sufficient to meet minimum standards of the Youth Ranches Skills Test.
6. Must have the ability to present information in a clear and concise manner and in such a format that encourages learning and participation in training activities.
7. Must have the ability to refrain from divulging confidential information to unauthorized persons.
8. Must have a strong orientation to customer service and have the ability to work cooperatively with others.
9. Must have a valid Florida Driver License and be able to maintain a safe driving record consistent with agency policy.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS


The physical requirements described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable an individual with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
The employee is regularly required to stand, sit, walk, talk, hear, and reach with hands and arms. The employee will occasionally be required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and lift objects weighing up to 35 pounds.
Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work is performed in both office and outdoor environments with exposure to various weather conditions. While performing the duties of this position the employee will occasionally work near moving mechanical parts. This position requires occasional travel.

BASE SALARY

$37,960 Annually
